For the first time, in Soroca, the Jobs Forum: “A successful career at home” took place

The Center for Entrepreneurial Education and Business Support (CEDA), in partnership with the National Employment Agency (ANOFM), organized the first edition of the Jobs Forum “A Successful Career at Home ” in the North. The event takes place on 13-14 October 2017 in Soroca and is organized with the support of the Austrian Development Agency (ADA).

Thus, on the 13th of October 2017, at “Constantin Stere” Lyceum Soroca, the Round Table entitled “Youth Career Guidance – Challenges and Perspectives” took place. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, Educational Institutions, the Soroca Education Department, local public administration, economic agents, NGOs, and the media. Participants shared the career guidance experience and discussed future actions in the field of youth career guidance.

Also, on October 14, 2017, the Regional Jobs Forum continued at “Constantin Stere” Lyceum with an event dedicated to graduates from North Moldova, young people from centers of excellence and vocational schools in the region. About 100 young people from the North of the country participated in a training course with businessmen and professionals in career development. Young people have been also involved in career guidance workshops and developed CV skills, salary negotiation, career advancement, etc.

At the same time, a brochure for young people was published as part of the project, with the slogan “The Employee’s Future Guide: for a successful career at home”. The guide has been printed in 1000 copies and contains useful information about making a CV; the list of career fairs in the Republic of Moldova; employment sites, as well as job vacancy information registered at ANOFM. The brochure is distributed free of charge to the Jobs Forum participants and can be found here: Brochure

The Soroca event is the first of a wider range of similar events. The Jobs Forum was organized in Cahul (comprising the localities from the South region) and will be organized later in Chisinau (the localities from the Center region).

The Jobs Forum is organized under the “Re-Engineering Vocational Orientation and Career Counseling” (REVOCC), implemented by CEDA, in partnership with the National Agency for Employment and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, and the financial support provided by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA). The project was carried out from December 2014 and continues until November 30, 2017. The goal of the project is to improve the image of secondary technical vocational education in the Republic of Moldova by re-conceptualizing vocational guidance and career counseling of secondary education and secondary technical education students.
